Atlanta Mini-Vacay

Atlanta is the "cool" South.  There's culture, art, fantastic food and most importantly, great fashion.  I visited recently for a mini-vacay and here are some of my favorite spots in the ATL.

Georgia Aquarium

This place is beautiful!  And they have several whale sharks which are fascinating.  My kids loved this place.

Taqueria del Sol

Local favorite and the line is usually out the door.  My fav is the fish taco and the Memphis pork taco.

Octane Coffee

This SUPER hipster coffee spot had a cool vibe going but when I asked for a hazelnut latte and the barista told me, "Um, we don't, like, do flavored coffee"... I settled for a flat white.  Geez, they act like I ordered a Pumpkin Spice.

The Merchant

This gift shop was so adorable.  They carried a lot of the same brands we do and their merchandising was on point.  Highly recommend for unique holiday shopping.

The Varsity - Est. 1928

I've been going here since I was a kid so this place is very nostalgic for me.  It also makes me feel guilty for eating so much grease.  Oh well!

Helen, Georgia

Helen, Georgia is a cute Swiss replica town nestled on the Chattahoochee  river.  I tubed down this river as a kid every summer.  The Troll Tavern is a German cafe on the water where we grabbed wine and beer cheese soup.  Lots of great photo opps in Helen!

We hiked up Anna Ruby Falls which was so fun and only took about an hour.  Even the laziest person (i.e. ME) can handle it.

We rented a cabin from Timberloft Cabins for a couple days to experience the mountains.  My kids LOVED the jacuzzi and the peace and quiet was nice until I thought about the movie Deliverance. Get this city girl back home!

xoxo
